What is Two-Factor Authentication?
Two-factor authentication adds an additional layer of security by introducing a second step to login. It takes your password and adds a second factor, typically a physical device such as phone or tablet. In the event an attacker obtains your password, two-factor authentication would stop them from accessing your account.
Why Use Two-Factor Authentication?
Many people use the same password for all of their login points. In the event that a malicious user gains access, they could potentially gain access to a host of other sites and services. Two-Factor Authentication puts a stop to that by requiring users, who succesfully login in with a password, to use a physical device they possess for futher verification.
Enable Two-Factor in the Client Area
Login to the client area and click on the update button below the "Your Info" panel or click on your name in the top menu, followed by the Edit Account Details link. Navigate to the Security Settings link in the My Account panel and click on the "Click here to Enable" button in the Two-Factor Authentication section to begin the setup process.
